About Gurdwara Nanaksar

Gurdwara Nanaksar is a global organization dedicated to spreading the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee, the founder of the Sikh religion. Committed to universal brotherhood, selfless love, peace, and harmony, the Gurdwara offers a welcoming environment for all, regardless of religious background. Under the spiritual guidance of Holy Saint Baba Gurdev Singh Jee and worshipping Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee as the living guru, Nanaksar fosters a community centered on selfless service (Sewa) and meditation (Simran). The history of Nanaksar is rooted in the spiritual legacy of Sant Baba Nand Singh Jee, further developed by Sant Baba Ishar Singh Jee and currently led by Sant Baba Gurdev Singh Jee. This lineage has established seventeen Nanaksar Gurdwaras worldwide. Services offered include daily Kirtan (singing of hymns) in the early morning and evening, recitation of the Holy Book, and classes for learning Gurmukhi, playing instruments, and singing Kirtan. Notably, many Gurdwaras provide free medical consultations and medicines to those in need. A unique feature is the open house policy, welcoming and serving everyone, reflecting the belief that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee’s blessings are for all of mankind. The Gurdwaras operate with strict Maryada (rituals), emphasizing humility and selfless devotion, with even spiritual leaders sleeping on thin mattresses on the floor.

History

Dhan Dhan Baba Nand Singh Jee is the founder of Nanaksar Institution. He stands out amongst his peers as he unveiled the hidden glory of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee in which he unfolded the hidden eternal splendors of the founder of Sikhism Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee. He restored the highest respect, esteem, faith and loving devotion of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. He caused and effected integration of thousands of stranded souls with Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee and thus saved them from drowning in this burning ocean of universal illusion. The service of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee as described by Sant Baba Nand Singh Jee was fully established by his successor Sant Baba Ishar Singh Jee at Nanaksar Kaleran, near Jagroan, Punjab, India. He undertook this mission to various cities of India and taught the people about the eternal glory of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee besides administration of Amrit (sacred Nectar as prescribed by 10th Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee) on large scale. Sant Baba Ishar Singh Jee carried out the mission for 13 years and bestowed the responsibilities of continuation of mission to Sant Baba Gurdev Singh Jee who went to village Samadh Bhai as per instructions of Sant Baba Ishar Singh Jee. Sant Baba Gurdev Singh Jee, who at present is fulfilling the responsibilities and has been instrumental in taking this mission to abroad as well.

Unique Features

Nanaksar Satsang Sabha is a unique religious, non-denominational, secular world (international) organization. It is committed to spreading the message of our most reverend "Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee", the founder of sikh religion. He preached and promoted universal brotherhood, selfless love, peace, harmony and serving all people. We gain strength and seek directions through prayers and worshipping "Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee" as living guru under the spiritual guidance of our highest priest "Holy Saint Baba Gurdev Singh Jee". The organization has built seventeen Nanaksar Sikh Temples (Gurdwaras) around the world. These Gurdwaras operate in very strong cooperation with one another and have fully functional Maryada (Rituals) of Kirtan (Singing of Hymns) services in early hours of morning and evening. Prayers at Nanaksar are performed for all mankind. Nanaksar reaffirms the principles of selfless service and meditation and follow an open house policy by welcoming and serving people from any religion or group. All the services carried out at Nanaksar Gurdwaras are done for the welfare of the mankind. In the main Sachkhand, Ardas is carried out only for the welfare of the mankind and not in the name of any person. Nishan Sahib is not erected in any of Nanaksar Gurdwaras because it is a political symbol or an army flag. At Nanaksar, politics is never mixed with religion.
