The Hindu Society of North East Florida (HSNEF) is a venerable institution serving as the longest-standing faith-based organization in the region, dedicated to uniting the Hindu community. Established with the goal of providing a dedicated space for worship, fellowship, and cultural practice, HSNEF has grown from its inception in the late 1980s to become a vibrant center for spiritual and community engagement. HSNEF offers a comprehensive range of services designed to nurture spiritual growth and community bonds. Its Mandir (Temple) facility hosts daily worship services conducted by learned priests, along with special rituals performed in accordance with Vedic traditions. The society actively facilitates celebrations of Hindu festivals, hosts an annual food festival (Anand Bazaar), and organizes various cultural programs aimed at uniting the community and preserving traditions. Educational initiatives are also a cornerstone, with offerings such as Indian Heritage classes, classical music and dance instruction, and youth programs like the Ripples Youth Committee, designed to foster selfless community service. Additionally, HSNEF provides regular yoga classes, meditation sessions, and lectures on spiritual topics. A significant aspect of HSNEF's role in the community is its commitment to fostering deeper connections and bridging virtues, traditions, and culture. The society is guided by a dedicated team of volunteers, including founders, benefactors, an Advisory Council, and an elected Executive Board, supported by various sub-committees. HSNEF also engages in charitable activities and supports community causes. Unique features of HSNEF include its diverse array of sacred deities, such as Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Lord Venkateswara, Shri Durga, Lakshmi Narayana, Shri Ram Parivar, Shri Radha Krishna, and Mahavir Swami, each offering specific energies and avenues for worship. The society also boasts a notable Shiva Linga acquired from Kashi, recognized as one of the larger Shiva Lingas in the United States. HSNEF is actively planning for future expansion, inviting community support to collectively build their future. The organization is a registered 501c3 non-profit, emphasizing transparency and the collective welfare of its members and the broader North East Florida population.
