Guru Nanak Religious Society (GNRS) Founded in 1982, the Guru Nanak Religious Society (GNRS) in Columbus, Ohio, is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization serving over 250 members of the Central Ohio Sikh community. Guided by the teachings of Sikh Gurus, GNRS is dedicated to the principles of Sikhism, the world's fifth-largest religion. The Gurdwara is open daily from 5 am to 9 pm, with weekly services held every Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm, welcoming everyone to participate. GNRS offers various services, including communal meals (Langar), religious discourse (Katha), and educational resources on Sikhism. They actively engage with community issues, notably their solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, drawing from Sikh history's emphasis on defending the defenseless. The Gurdwara also hosts medical seminars, providing valuable health information and resources to the community. Financed entirely by donations from its Sangat, GNRS encourages contributions to support its daily operations and future projects. Visitors are welcomed with clear guidelines on respectful attire, including removing shoes and covering heads, with head coverings provided. Guru Nanak Religious Society (GNRS) is a non-profit organization, 501(c)3, founded in 1982, and now has over 250 members belonging to Central Ohio area. The members of the community believe in the teachings of Sikh Gurus, and follow Sikhism, which is the fifth largest religion in the world.

Unique Features

Sikh history is rich in examples of gurus and soldiers standing up to defend the defenseless, underprivileged, or preyed upon populations. We must take it upon ourselves to uphold these values of Sikhism by standing in solidarity with the Black community. Together, we stand in solidarity with the Black community in the fight against systemic racism and injustice.
