About Gurdwara Sahib Thunder Bay
Gurdwara Sahib Thunder Bay, established by the Thunder Bay Sikh Society, represents the first Gurdwara in Northern Ontario. Founded with a rental building in September 2018 and subsequently moving to a renovated building at 830 Spring Street in September 2023, it serves as a spiritual and community hub. The Gurdwara offers daily Kirtan and Path, with specific timings for Prakash, Nitnem, and Rehraas Sahib. Sunday programs include Sukhmani Sahib path, Katha vichaar, and Kirtan. The Gurdwara is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and community engagement. It hosts regular Gurmat Classes every Friday and Saturday, aimed at educating children and youth about Sikh history, Gurbani, and teachings. A strong emphasis is placed on selfless service (Seva), with weekly cleaning Sewa held every Friday. Additionally, Simran Sadhna, a session of meditative remembrance, takes place every Saturday evening. The Gurdwara's foundation is rooted in Sikh principles of hard work (Kirat Karna) and sharing with others (Vand Chhakna), including the continuous service of Langar (free community kitchen). The society is actively seeking support for future expansion.

History
With the grace of Almighty and prayers of Sikh Sangat, Thunder Bay Sikh Society established the Gurdwara Sahib in Thunder Bay (first one in Northern Ontario), starting with a rental building in September 2018. We bought an old building in March 2023, renovated it and moved the Gurdwara Sahib to the new building at 830 Spring Street Thunder Bay, ON, P7C 3L6 on September 9, 2023. We may feel short of the space and eventually, we will need to expand the Gurudwara Sahib for which we require the support of Sangat.

Gurmat Class
We warmly invite all children and youth to attend Gurmat Classes every Friday and Saturday. Learn about Sikh history, Gurbani, Sikh Rehat Maryada, and how to live the teachings of Guru Sahib in daily life. Parents are encouraged to bring their children and help them stay connected to Sikhi.
