The Pittsburgh Sikh Gurdwara, a spiritual center for Sikhs and a welcoming space for all, is located in Monroeville, PA, serving the Tri-State Region of South-Western Pennsylvania, South-Eastern Ohio, and Northern West Virginia. A Gurdwara, meaning "the doorway to the guru," offers a place of worship open to individuals of any religious background, including atheists and agnostics. The Gurdwara hosts a variety of services and educational programs. Weekly activities include Kirtan (devotional singing) classes on Thursdays and Gurmat (Sikh philosophy) classes on Fridays. Sundays feature Kirtan classes, Punjabi/Gurmat classes, Gatka (Sikh martial art) demonstrations, Gurbaani discussions, and volunteer-led and professional Kirtan performances, culminating in Samapati and Langar (community meal). The community role is evident in its welcoming nature and efforts to connect newcomers. Unique features include Kirtan videos available on YouTube and historical documentation such as "The Building of the TSSCS Sikh Gurdwara- A Brief History." The Gurdwara actively engages in community events, as seen in the coverage of the Pittsburgh Local Symposium. Donations are welcomed to support its operations.
