The community's need for a local Gurdwara became apparent over recent decades, as congregants previously traveled significant distances. The Gurdwara established its first location in Selah in 2014, relocating to West Valley in 2019. Construction for their new, permanent location in Terrace Heights began in November 2022, with the goal of offering organized worship schedules and performing special religious ceremonies. The Gurdwara is committed to sharing the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib and offers various services, though specific details are best obtained by direct contact. History
The sangat of Yakima has been steadily growing over the last few decades and there was a need for a place of worship for our community. At first, our nearest Gurdwara was in the Tri-cities and several families would travel the distance on Sundays and during special occasions. Then, in 2014 our first location was opened in Selah. In 2019, we relocated to West Valley. Now, due to growing sangat, there is a need for a permanent location. At the end of 2022, the construction for our gurdwara in Terrace Heights became and we are eagerly awaiting for its completion. We take pride in the religious services we offer, drawing upon a network of a community from various backgrounds, but with the common love of our Waheguru in common to effectively deliver organized worship schedules and perform special religious ceremonies.
