Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, located in Oak Creek, was established on October 1, 1997, beginning with a few families gathering in rented halls. The congregation grew, leading to the formal establishment in Milwaukee in 1999 and later the construction of a new Gurdwara in Oak Creek, completed in 2007. The temple is dedicated to promoting the principles and ideals of Sikhism to all, regardless of background. The Gurdwara offers various services, including Akhand Path, Sahej Path, Sukhmani Sahib Path, and Anand Karaj (wedding ceremonies). Daily services are available from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The Khalsa School of Milwaukee, housed in the Gurdwara's basement, provides instruction in Punjabi language, Gurmat, Sikh history, and the Sikh way of life for all ages. Unique features of the Gurdwara include a library, an educational area for children, a play area, and accommodations for visiting priests. The temple actively collaborates with organizations like Rangla Punjab for cultural activities, representing the Sikh community in various events. Visitors are welcome by appointment.
