Sikh Gurdwara of Sadh Sangat, also known as Norco Gurdwara, was established in 1998 with the aim of promoting the Sikh way of life. Sikh Gurdwara of Sadh Sangat was formed in 1998. Since its formation, the Gurdwara Sahib has continuously held programs to benefit and promote the Sikh way of life. Aside from the regular Gurdwara Darbar program, classes for children to learn Punjabi/Gurmukhi, Sikh History and Gurbani are held on a weekly classes basis. The Gurdwara Sahib has always actively supported local Sikh Youth groups and has a strong youth presence among its Directors, Committee and Membership.
Unique Features
People from all faiths, and those who do not profess any faith, are welcomed in Sikh gurdwaras. Each gurdwara has a Darbar Sahib where the current and everlasting guru of the Sikhs, the scripture Guru Granth Sahib, is placed on a takhat (an elevated throne) in a prominent central position. The raagis (who sing Ragas) recite, sing, and explain the verses from the Guru Granth Sahib, in the presence of the congregation. A free community kitchen can be found at every Gurdwara which serves meals to all people of all faiths.
