About Guru Nanak Mission Society of Atlanta
Guru Nanak Mission Society of Atlanta Inc. (GNMS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to practicing, promoting, and preaching the universal brotherhood message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the ten Sikh Gurus, as taught through Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Formed to serve the religious, social, and cultural needs of the community, GNMS emphasizes the supreme importance of the Sangat, integrating their input into its mission and programs. The Gurudwara offers regular services including Sodar Rehras Sahib, Keertan (hymn singing), Ardaas (prayer), Hukamnama (divine command), Viakhiya (discourse), and Guru Ka Langar (community kitchen) on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:00 pm onwards, and on Sundays from 10:00 am. Services also include Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path. GNMS provides a wide array of Seva (service) opportunities, both inside and outside the Gurudwara, encompassing various religious ceremonies like Akhand Path and marriage ceremonies, as well as kitchen usage and deep cleaning. A unique feature is the commitment to integrating Sangat feedback into its operations, ensuring community needs are met.
