About ISKCON Hawaii
ISKCON Hawaii is a spiritual oasis in Honolulu dedicated to spiritual education and fostering unity and peace. Founded on the Vedic teachings of Bhakti Yoga as presented by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the temple offers a nonsectarian community focused on chanting the mahã mãntra and distributing sanctified vegetarian food. The temple hosts regular events, including weekly Harinama in Waikīkī and Sunday Love Feasts, providing opportunities for spiritual upliftment and celebration according to timeless traditions. Services offered include devotional practices like Kirtan, a form of call-and-response chanting accompanied by music that purifies the mind and fosters spiritual connection. ISKCON Hawaii also emphasizes "Seva," or spiritual service, with opportunities to contribute to projects like gardening, flower garland making, cleaning, and temple maintenance. A unique feature is Govinda's Buffet, which serves healthy, 100% vegetarian and vegan meals prepared with love, offering a peaceful environment for nourishment of both body and soul. Govinda's has been serving since 1974 and offers customizable catering. The temple also houses the Pancha Tattva, representing divine aspects that share the blessing of love for God. ISKCON Hawaii plays a significant role in the community by performing service for neighborhood and societal upliftment, aiming to awaken individuals' dormant relationship with Krishna and cultivate a life of devotion and love.

History
ISKCON Hawaii Temple is a nonsectarian community dedicated to spiritual education and promoting unity and peace in the world through chanting the mahã mãntra, distributing sanctified vegetarian food and propagating spiritual knowledge and practices based on the ancient Vedic teachings of Bhakti Yoga. The temple was established to be a spiritual oasis in the heart of Honolulu, Hawaii. Festivals are held according to timeless traditions, and service (seva) is performed for the upliftment of the neighborhood and society. His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder acarya of ISKCON, established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in July of 1966. Since 1969, he has been distributing the gifts of Krishna Consciousness throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Between 1974 and 1976, he devoted early morning hours to translating and expounding ancient Vedic literature, making these grounds a tirtha (holy place).
Unique Features
The temple is inspired by New Navadwip, a revered pilgrimage site in West Bengal, India, aspiring to reflect and embody its spirit of devotion. The Pancha Tattva, representing five divine aspects sharing the blessing of love for God, are central to the temple's iconography.
