About Silicon Valley Gurdwara
Silicon Valley Gurdwara, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serves as a spiritual and community hub for the Sikh sangat in Santa Clara, California. Established in late January 2012, the Gurdwara began by renting a community hall before acquiring its own building through community donations and funding. The Gurdwara offers a range of services designed to foster spiritual growth and community engagement. These include regular Kirtan programs with daily Nitnem, Sodar Rehras, Kirtan, and Katha Vichar, as well as special weekend programs like Asa Di Vaar and Sukhmani Sahib Path. A significant aspect of the Gurdwara's mission is the SVG Khalsa School, which commenced in September 2013. This school focuses on Gurmat education, spiritual development, and teaching Punjabi language, Gurbani, and Kirtan to children aged 3-18. The Khalsa School also organizes events to promote Sikh virtues, culture, and history, including stage plays, movie screenings, and community parades. A unique feature of Silicon Valley Gurdwara is its commitment to community service, known as "Sewa." This includes the operation of a Langar, a free community kitchen, and opportunities for daily cleaning Sewa. The Gurdwara actively seeks donations and volunteer teachers to support its mission and educational programs, aiming to build strong bonds with both the Guru and the community. The organization is in the process of renovating a larger venue, anticipating further growth and enhanced opportunities for its Khalsa School and wider sangat.

History
Santa Clara's Silicon Valley Gurudwara started in late January 2012, at that time we used to rent the Machado Park's community hall every Sunday for a year. With the help of Sadh Sangat's donation and community funding, Gurdwara Sahib has been relocated to 2306 Walsh Ave, Santa Clara, where Gurudwara sahib can operate 24/7 and hosts special events since it was limited to opening on Sunday alone in the past. They hope with the larger venue, the Gurudwara can also provide khalsa school for youths. With Guru ji's blessings, their dream was answered.
Unique Features
Khalsa School Academy commenced in September 2013, encourages Punjabi and Sikh studies with a prime focus on Gurmat education and spiritual development, offers programs such as learning Kirtan, Gurbani, & musical instruments, conducts mid-term & final competition for children, celebrates special events, and has periodic Parents-Teacher meeting. Sikh Food Pantry group came together during the COVID-19 public health emergency to serve the community.
