About Tulsa Sikh Gurdwara
The Tulsa Sikh Temple, established by the Tulsa Sikh Sangat, is a new spiritual center serving the Sikh community in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The initiative to create a dedicated Gurdwara arose from the need for a local place of worship, as the Sangat previously gathered in homes or traveled to Oklahoma City, a considerable distance away. Following the acquisition of an old church building in July 2023, extensive renovations have been underway, with the Gurdwara slated to open to the public in January 2025. The temple will offer regular religious services, including Sukhmani Sahib or Japji Sahib prayers, Kirtan (devotional singing), Ardas (supplication), and Hukamnama (divine guidance). A central aspect of the Gurdwara's offerings is Guru Ka Langar, a communal kitchen serving free meals to all. The Tulsa Sikh Sangat actively engages the community in its establishment, with progress updates and donation options readily available online. The temple aims to be a vibrant hub for spiritual practice and community gathering, fostering a sense of unity and service among its members and the wider public.

The Tulsa Sikh Sangat established the Gurdwara in Tulsa, OK. Previously, the Sangat would gather in homes for Kirtan or travel to Oklahoma City, which is a 2-hour drive. As more families moved to Tulsa, they had the opportunity to purchase an old church building. The building was bought in July 2023 and is undergoing renovation from August 2023 to December 2024. The Gurdwara is planned to be open to the public in January 2025.
