About Gurdwara Sahib of SouthWest Houston

Gurdwara Sahib of Southwest Houston (GSSWH) was established by the residents of Sugar Land and Southwest Houston on April 23rd, 2006, serving as a spiritual and community hub. The Gurdwara offers regular Sunday morning and Friday evening services, including Asa di Vaar Kirtan, Sukhmani Sahib Path, and Shabad Kirtan, culminating in Anand Sahib, Ardas, and Guru ka Langar. Weekday mornings feature Prakash and Punj Baaniya de Path, with evening services including Path Rehraas Ji and Kirtan Sohaila. GSSWH plays a vital role in the community by fostering Sikh identity and values through various programs. A key community service is the Guru ka Langar, a communal meal served daily. Unique to GSSWH is its Punjabi School, which provides children and youth with opportunities to learn about Sikhism, Punjabi language, and Sikh religion, with a new school building underway. The Gurdwara also facilitates religious ceremonies such as Anand Kaaraj (Sikh marriage). Special religious observances like Vaisakhi and Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Parkash Purab are celebrated with extensive programs including Sri Akhand Path Sahib Ji, Nishan Sahib Seva, and multi-day Langar Seva. The Gurdwara is open to the Sangat seven days a week, with resident Bhai Sahibs available to assist visitors.
