Sikhs of MO, formerly known as Sikhs of STL, is a distinguished 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization specializing in Disaster Relief and Emergency Response. With a noble mission of serving communities with unwavering commitment and compassion, Sikhs of MO is deeply rooted in the principles of providing unconditional assistance. Operating under a 'No Questions Asked, No Judgment' policy, the organization is steadfast in its focus on humanitarian service, prioritizing the safety and dignity of vulnerable populations. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Missouri, Sikhs of MO has been instrumental in delivering essential services such as hot meals, food resources, and hygiene supplies to those in dire need. The organization's dedication to community service has garnered state and national recognition, showcasing its commitment to empathy, inclusivity, and diversity. Education, advocacy, and community engagement are core to its activities, all aimed at cultivating a culture of selfless service, acceptance, and protection for the underprivileged. One of Sikhs of MO's hallmark annual events is TURBAN DAY, conducted in collaboration with Susan G. Komen and St. Jude, to honor cancer survivors by presenting them with complimentary turbans—a gesture of honor and respect in Sikh culture. Throughout the pandemic, Sikhs of MO adapted its response to meet the evolving needs of the community. As local Gurdwaras suspended their traditional 'Langar' services, the organization's volunteers redoubled their efforts, organizing extensive food and supply drives across Saint Louis, especially in pandemic-hit areas. These initiatives have supported thousands of families with fresh produce, non-perishables, and vital supplies. Additionally, their unhoused supply drives have provided hot meals, winter clothing, blankets, and emergency kits to those without shelter. Guided by the Sikh principle of 'Seva' or selfless service, Sikhs of MO continues to operate its Disaster Relief project every Sunday, offering food and assistance to all in need. The unwavering support from the community has been crucial in sustaining these efforts. Sikhs of MO envisions a world marked by global unity and support, advocating for individual acts of kindness to foster global healing and transformation.
