About Gurdwara Nanaksar

Gurdwara Nanaksar is a global organization dedicated to spreading the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee, the founder of Sikhism. Founded by Sant Baba Nand Singh Jee and further established by Sant Baba Ishar Singh Jee and currently guided by His Holiness Sant Baba Gurdev Singh Jee, the institution operates seventeen Nanaksar Gurdwaras worldwide. These Gurdwaras are united in their mission to foster universal brotherhood, selfless love, peace, and harmony among all people, irrespective of their background or beliefs. Services offered at Gurdwara Nanaksar include daily Kirtan (singing of hymns) services in the early morning and evening, as well as special services and celebrations commemorating significant events in Sikh history and the lives of the Gurus. The Gurdwaras also provide educational programs, including classes in Gurmukhi, recitation of scriptures, and musical training in Harmonium and Tabla. In many locations, free medical consultations and medicines are provided to those in need. A unique feature is the strict adherence to Maryada (rituals), where Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee is revered as the living Guru, with attendants and the head priest sleeping on the floor, emphasizing humility and selfless service. The Gurdwaras maintain an open-house policy, welcoming and serving individuals from all religions and groups, reinforcing their commitment to equality and universal welfare.
