About Central Jersey Sikh Association

Central Jersey Sikh Association, Gurudwara Sahib, is a spiritual and cultural hub dedicated to the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, promoting peace, equality, and selfless service. Established in 1987 as the Central Jersey Sikh Association, the Gurudwara building was completed in 2001 in Washington Township, New Jersey, fulfilling a long-held dream of the local sangat. The Gurudwara offers a variety of services, including regular Diwans on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings, as well as daily morning and evening services. These services feature Kirtan, Katha, Ardas, and the renowned Guru ka Langar, a free community kitchen that embodies the Sikh values of sharing and compassion. Educational programs are also a cornerstone, with classes available in Sikh Studies, Punjabi, Shabad Kirtan, Gurbani, Gurmukhi, and Sikh History. Unique offerings include Gatka and Santhia classes. Beyond worship and education, the Central Jersey Sikh Association plays a significant role in community building. It operates a Sikh faith school, emphasizing the belief that "together we shine," and actively involves parents and families in the children's spiritual and social development. The Gurudwara is open to all, regardless of faith or background, serving as a sanctuary for reflection, prayer, and communal harmony, and fostering inner peace and a deeper connection with divine wisdom. There is also a noted Phase II extension of the Gurudwara Sahib's building underway.
